A.Gallery had the pleasure of attending the North Glasgow College Art HND end of term exhibition '(18)sixyt'. For one night only a mixture of instillation, photography, painting and printmaking was displayed by the artists of tomorrow. Highlights of the exhibition was Craig Black's nostalgic butcher shop instillation offering 'a rose tinted view of the past'. Fine art painters Jenny Reid and Lisa Marshall offered an alternative method to the portrait and landscape in their vivid coloured paintings. Also, Thomas Abercromby displayed an antique chair with accompanied video and photographs conveying concerns of abandonment, dereliction and the passing of human life.
All in all, a fabulous effort from all and if this is what these young artists are producing in their second year, I cannot wait to see their degree show!
